If you’re looking for a non-invasive, long-lasting, and immediate way to rejuvenate significant aging and volume loss then Radiesse may be the right answer for you.

Over time, our body produces less collagen, leading to volume loss and loss of elasticity of our skin. As part of the aging process, we also lose bone and muscle mass from our body including our face.

Volume loss in the face can lead to deep creases, hollowed temples and cheeks, or sagging jowls. When strategically injected into specific areas of the face Radiesse® can restore volume to the face creating fullness and restoring or creating desired contours. The results can last up to 18 months or more in selected patients making it a great cost-effective option compared to using many vials of dermal fillers.

Radiesse® is different from usual dermal fillers such as Juvederm® and Restylane®. Radiesse® is made of tiny biodegradable calcium-based microspheres which are suspended in a natural, water-based gel. These microspheres are similar to minerals that are found naturally in the body, so allergy testing is not required. Over time, the body breaks down these tiny calcium microspheres and the gel which then induces one’s own natural collagen production. As such, the volume left behind is the body’s own natural and long-lasting collagen.

This biocompatible product is approved by Health Canada and the FDA. It has been used for decades with an excellent safety profile. It is a great way of achieving a natural look without looking as though you have had facial fillers. This treatment promotes the body’s own natural collagen production.

During your consultation Dr. Javidnia will help you decide if this is the best treatment for your facial volume loss. Using her extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, she can determine the best amount and placement of treatment to provide you with your desired outcome.

We ensure that your treatment is very comfortable by using topical anesthetic. As well the formulation of the injection includes local anesthetic/freezing solution helping to numb the injection area for maximal comfort.

Down time after treatment?

Usually treatment involves minimal to no down time. As with all injectable treatments some minor swelling and bruising can occur for a few days following treatment. Using ice immediately after the treatment and for the first 24 hours helps to minimize any bruising and swelling. Makeup can be used to camouflage minor bruising.
